Jack Frost was Here

This morning it was below freezing. It’s been said that Nature was the first artist.

And so she painted in frost on my deck railing!

It is the life of the crystal, the architect of the flake, the fire of the frost, the soul of the sunbeam. This crisp winter air is full of it. – John Burroughs

I live in the amazing Pacific Northwest. I'm a writer, photographer, birder, nature lover. I'm also a gardener, of food, flowers and shrubs.

    1. I’m not sure exactly what you’re referring to, but it was dry and sunny, cold, got much colder overnight, then the sun came out this morning, so I suspect there was a tiny bit of warming and melting going on when I went out.
